Vision &

Core Values

Connecting People to Jesus and Loving our Community.

Its not just a fun saying, it’s who we are as as church. We want nothing more than for you to love Jesus deeply and love the people around you the same.

Way that we chose to live this out:

  • Annual Loving Our Community Sunday- We cancel Sunday services and go serve in all of the towns in the area. We clean up houses, cook meals, deliver cookies, visit nursing homes, repaint parks, and so much more

  • Serve concessions at our home football games

  • Meet needs for families in town when there are needs. This has ranged anywhere from gas to groceries or an air conditioner or a car.

  • Collect Christmas gifts for foster children a well as host an annual foster care Christmas party for our two counties.

CORE

Values

To live out being the unique church that God is calling us to be in NE Missouri, these values are at the core of everything we do.  What we value determines what we do.

  • Transformation happens when God’s truth begins to matter. God’s word is not information to gather, but the living word of God breathed into our lives to bring life, purpose, and freedom. It is not information but designed as transformation.

    (Hebrews 4:12-13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, James 1:22-25)

  • Joy is transferable and life-changing. It is contagious and addictive. When Joy is at the center of the church, we become people who live with good news. We are invited to a party for eternity, so we should prepare for it now!

    (Luke 15:22-24, Nehemiah 8:10, Philippians 4:4)

  • We often become so focused on behavior that we miss out on joy. We become so serious about religious rule-following that we miss out on the goodness of Jesus. Jesus never expected perfection, and we don't expect it from others. We are all a little messy, and we are all in need of grace. Imperfection is NOT disqualification, but the need for grace.

    (Romans 3:23-24, 1 Timothy 1:12-13, Romans 6:1-2, Ephesians 2:4-10)

  • Jesus's love for those around him is infectious. He saw and added value to those around him. When he encountered people, they left better because of it. Our love for Jesus is only understood as far as our actions allow others to see it. So, we will passionately look for ways to love, encourage, sacrifice, and serve our community.

    (1 John 3:16-18, Luke 5:27-32, Galatians 3:28)

  • Jesus has sent us on a bold and courageous mission that involves change, being different, and being uncomfortable. With everything that God has given us, we are going to take risks and try new things so that as many people as possible might love Jesus. Risk is a defining characteristic of faithfulness.

    (Matthew 25:14-30, 1 Timothy 1:7, Joshua 1:9)

  • The truth of Jesus has been changing lives for generations, and we are determined for it not to stop with us. We will invest in, sacrifice for, think creatively about, and dream alongside our kids and students. We want to be a safe place for the next generation to ask big questions about God and an exciting place for them to learn to follow him.

    (Galatians 6:8-10, Deuteronomy 6:5-9)

  • When Jesus calls us to live on mission, it means that each one of us is a disciple who is making disciples. This means we have ONE person we pray for, seek after, and help find Jesus. This means we will build relationships with people far from God, be OK with brokenness, and live by example, especially when it comes to our faith. We will do whatever it takes to get our friends, neighbors, and coworkers to Jesus.

    (Luke 15:3-7, Luke 5:17-26, Romans 6:8)

  • As followers of Jesus, generosity is more of an act of love than it is budgeting and volunteering. Radical Generosity is not a task we do, but an example we follow.  We aim to hold on to nothing so others can hold on to Jesus.

    (Mark 12:41-44, Acts 2:42-47, John 3:16)

  • Worship is a response to who God is and what he has already done. We will bring ourselves in both abandonment of this world and adoration to our king, and worship passionately in every area of our lives. We focus far more on the posture of our heart in worship than on a style, method, or place. Worship is how we live as a reflection of our savior. Authenticity in worship is discovered when the song ends.

    (John 4:21-24, Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 12:28-29, Psalm 100:1-2)
